Important Announcement Regarding The Secret Cabal

Hello Cabalists!
Many of you may already know this from reading the posts on our BoardGameGeek.com forums, Facebook, Twitter, etc. but for those of you who do not frequent our social media the Secret Cabal is taking a bit of a hiatus due to some rough times that hit our lead host and producer, Jamie.
Back in September of 2021 and throughout the fall Jamie talked on the podcast about some health issues he was experiencing and that he was working with doctors to get those issues cleared up. There were some ups and down with different treatments but nothing ultimately solved the problems. On Wednesday, December 28th Jamie was taken to the hospital and admitted due to serious respiratory distress where after a number of test, scans and procedures the doctors finally had a diagnosis - esophageal cancer.
Since the diagnosis Jamie has been undergoing a rigorous treatment schedule including daily radiation chemotherapy weekly. He has been in and out of the hospital and had a number of medical procedures. The past month has been extremely challenging and an incredible struggle for him and due to this, it has halted his ability to continue working on the podcasts for the time being and forced The Secret Cabal on a hiatus while he undergoes this treatment.
When Will Things Get Back to Normal?
That is a very difficult question. Jamie is the workhorse behind the podcast - he is the producer, editor and maintains the podcast feeds and social media and there isn’t a good mechanism in place for the other hosts of the show to fill his role. This makes it challenging to produce the shows as you know them. We are discussing our options for some shorter form content in the interim but those talks are in the planning stages.
It is very difficult to know how things will progress at this point but we are hoping to be back to business as usual this spring.
What About The 2021 Kickstarter?
Yes, this situation has created a major obstacle to overcome (as Jamie is also the designer and creator of most of the physical materials) and going to push out our delivery dates of the rewards for our 2021 Kickstarter. Please rest assured that we WILL deliver everything that was promised in the 2021 campaign.

Cabalists, over the past month while I’ve been undergoing this insane treatment for this stupid ass cancer bullshit, I’ve received so many amazing posts, messages, cards and email and I cannot thank you all enough. I cannot possibly respond to everything that comes in but please know how important all of your kindnesses and well wishes mean to me. It’s been keeping me going during the most difficult time of my life and I thank you all so much for it.

Hey Cabalists, this is Chris. I checked with Jamie after I'd received numerous requests on how to send cards, etc. Feel free to send them to my address and just put his name on them. I'll make sure anything good finds it's way in to the vortex… I mean... I'll make sure he receives them all.
