Support our 2015 Fundraiser!

After 79+ episodes, we have decided it's time to look to the future and take the Secret Cabal to the next level. As we talked about on the show, to move forward we need some funds to get thing done and get them done to the quality level that you've come to expect from our productions. We've decided to roll out a fundraiser initiative on Patreon.com. We love doing the show, it's so much fun for us and we're so happy about the outpouring of support you all have given us in the past. But we want to do more. MORE I SAY!

We're very excited about this becasue it means we're going to be doing more content for you guys to consume. Our first phase of the project will be doing a Fifth Wednesdays show! So when we have that week off when there's a fifth Wednesday, we'd plan to start releasing a new show thats a little different. We havent worked out the details of what it'll be yet, but it'll be founders talking about games  And hopefully if everything goes as planned, we'll do it more often. This isnt the only thing we'd like to do, there are lots of things we have swimming around in our brains for 2015. We'll keep you guys updated as to what we're planning as things move forward!

So anyway, if you guys are so inclined, think we're worth it and have the funds to spare, jump over to our fundraiser page at http://www.patreon.com/thesecretcabal and hook us up.

Thank you all so much for your support in the past and going forward. I've said it before and I'll say it again you guys are the best people in the world and I'm proud to be part of this community.

XCOM: The Board Game

In XCOM: The Board Game, you and up to three friends assume the roles of the leaders of the elite, international organization known as XCOM. It is your job to defend humanity, quell the rising panic, and turn back the alien invasion. Where the world's militaries have failed to stand against the alien invaders, you must succeed. To do so, you must make strategic use of the resources available to you. You must launch Interceptors to shoot down alien UFOs, assign soldiers to key missions, research alien technology, and use that technology to defend your base — all while trying to keep the world from collapsing just long enough that you can coordinate one final mission to repel the invaders for good. One of the more notable aspects of XCOM: The Board Game is the way that it incorporates a free and innovative digital app into the core of its gameplay. This digital companion will be available both as a downloadable app and as an online tool.

Terra Mystica

Terra Mystica is a game with very little luck that rewards strategic planning. Each player governs one of the 14 groups. With subtlety and craft, the player must attempt to rule as great an area as possible and to develop that group's skills. There are also four religious cults in which you can progress. To do all that, each group has special skills and abilities. Taking turns, the players execute their actions on the resources they have at their disposal. Different buildings allow players to develop different resources. Dwellings allow for more workers. Trading houses allow players to make money. Strongholds unlock a group's special ability, and temples allow you to develop religion and your terraforming and seafaring skills. Buildings can be upgraded: Dwellings can be developed into trading houses; trading houses can be developed into strongholds or temples; one temple can be upgraded to become a sanctuary.
