Castles of Burgundy Walkthrough And Review

15th century princes from the Loire Valley devote their efforts to strategic trading and building in order to bring their estates prosperity and prominence throughout Burgundy. Two dice set the action options, but the players always make the final choices. Trading, livestock farming, city building or scientific research many different paths lead to the prosperity and prominence of the players. The many ways to gain victory points in this building game require careful thought and extensive planning ahead. The different estates ensure that no two games are alike and that the game remains challenging for long time.

A Look Back at Galaxy Trucker

Galaxy Trucker is a fast paced, frantic experience. This was well liked when we first broke it out and it's still one that's enjoyed. Tony points out that every single woman we know hates this game. Chris thinks it's because it's impossible to make the perfect ship and all the women in our gaming group are obsessive compulsive and if they can't make a perfect ship they hate it.

Princes of the Dragon Throne

Our sponsor Game Salute has an excellent looking Kickstarter with 210 custom miniatures. This thing looks excellent! Check it out!Princes of the Dragon Throne is an area control and resource management board game that uses deck building as a driver for the other game elements. Players acquire citizen and dragon cards from a changing pool of available prospects to build their unique deck of recruits. Players use their recruits to gather resources and gain control of the various Guilds of the Kingdoms, earning special favors to advance their bid for the throne. The player with the highest prestige when the Parliament is full will win the Dragon Throne and rule over all the Kingdoms of Lo'en.

Potpourri of Questions part 2

The gang comes together again with honorary founder Rodney Smith, who is hiding out in his custom built sound booth, to conclude the potpourri of questions. This time we opened the floor to our kick ass fans to provide questions and we got a ton of submissions. Thanks to everyone who participated and while we hope we pronounced people's names correctly, in true Secret Cabal fashion we know we mangled them. Our apologies, unless you're going to complain in which case, "get outta our faces!" Rodney wanted everyone to bask in the glory of his impressive skills so he provided pics of his sound booth. Enjoy!

When Plans go Awry

The date is set. The game is planned out down to the tiniest detail. It's going to be one of the most glorious of tabletop sessions you've ever run. And then the players do the one thing you didn't plan for or missed the one thing that was so obvious that they would have to be daft to miss that's the crux of the entire plot line you've laid out for them. And that one
little thing could turn your game from what was to be your crowning achievement in gaming as a GM into the most hated and worst game your players have ever experienced. What do you do? Listen in as the founders talk about games they ran where situations like this happened and how they turned the game around without slapping the players in the face with the answer!
